Prunus Accolade is a magnificent small flowering cherry tree with a broad, funnel-shaped crown growing to a height of approximately 6metres. The green, oval leaves taper to a long point and are 6 – 12 cm long. ‘Accolade’ is an early-flowering cultivar with flowers in hanging bunches. In March/April the light pink flowers, approximately 4 cm in size and semi-double, emerge from pink flower buds. The leaf edge is unusually serrated, and gives great autumn colours. It is used as a specimen tree or planted in groups and prefers soils capable of providing a good deal of moisture.
