The Bramley Apple Tree is a large, vigorous and long lived fruit tree. It produces cooking apples that are by far the most popular apples used for cooking in Ireland and the UK. . Bramley apples are large with vivid green skin which turns lighter in colour as the season progresses. It is a heavy and regular producer while its apples can be harvested in the months of September and October. Bramley apple trees have sterile pollen so it needs a pollinator but cannot pollinate in return. They can be pollinated by Coxs Pippan, 'Elstar and James Grieve eating apple trees. It is suitable for almost all free draining soils. At Doonwood Nurseries, our Bramley Apple Trees are supplied as healthy 5 foot bareroot trees, however they will grow to over 10 foot in height
