Native hedging mix (Suitable for ACRES scheme)
A mixed native hedge provides fantastic shelter for animals throughout much of the year while it also attracts an abundance of birds, bees and other wildlife. You will get a mix of plants including whitethorn (85%), dog rose 5%, hazel 5% and guelder rose 5% (Approximate percentage mix).

Our native hedging mix is sold as follows:
25 metres – 125 plants

50 metres – 250 plants

100 metres – 500 plants

Planting requirements for ACRES Hedge planting

Up to 750m of new hedging can be planted in ACRES with a a minimum of ten metres. Plant requirements are:

  • Five plants per metre in a double staggered row
  • At least 3 species with no one making up more than 85% of the total
  • Plants must be Irish origin or provenance and must be purchased from registered producers

These plants are sold as bare root plants.
