Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia Glyptrostroboides) is a beautiful and rare deciduous conifer tree. It is a very fast growing tree attaining heights of 30 metres or more. Dawn Redwoods were thought to be extinct until they were rediscovered in Sichuan province in China in the 1940s. They have fantastic green, feathery foliage which takes on pink, golden colour in autumn before dropping its leaves in winter. Suited to being planted in well draining soils, Redwoods are very hardy and can tolerate a variety of tough conditions. Our Dawn Redwood trees are supplied as a healthy 6-7 foot specimen tree.
