Alder Saplings

Our Alder Saplings (Alnus Glutinosa) produce a very hardy species of tree found in all parts of Ireland on a wide range of sites. Purple grey leaf buds form on long stems while the leaves are dark green and leathery with serrated edges. Flowers on catkins appear on the tree between January and March which gives the alder a very attractive appearance over winter. Alders are useful for shelterbelts or on wet sites. They can also make a fine specimen tree in a garden.

​We have a wide range of other native saplings including Birch and Mountain Ash. Each year we grow thousands of Alder Saplings in our nursery. We also partner with other premium Irish Nurseries to source different and unusual plants.
